It’s like being a digital
architect, crafting intuitive interfaces and interactions that guide users smoothly, making their experience
enjoyable and efficient. UX designers blend creativity with problem-solving to ensure every interaction feels
natural and satisfying.

I’ve encountered misconceptions in UX design,

#BIG MYTH

such as the belief that designers Must learn to code for front-end development. ◊

Another myth is that UI/UX design is only about creating screens, stemming from graphic design. ◊

I saw the job as a chance to Move beyond creating visuals for companies and start designing screens for websites
and apps, and I looked forward to the challenge of working with clickable links. “that was my perspective as a
beginner in design. ♦

But Trust me,
everyone thinks like this until they dig deeper. Many UI/UX Design aspects remain unclear until you start
working for a company.

Here’s a list of things I’ve learned about UI/UX Design over the past years:

1 Beyond Landing Pages

At the start of a project, you might have a simple problem statement, like “Create a landing page for a travel
company.” As you Vove into a professional environment, these briefs become detailed Product Requirements
Documents (PRDs), usually provided by a Product Manager (PM). “the real challenge begins when you enter the
corporate world and work with a well-defined PRD to guide your design process.

2 Getting Started

Upon receiving a PRD, thoroughly review the requirements, suggest additions or adjustments, and critically assess
the needs for the best outcome.

3 User Flows

In personal projects, user flows may seem simple, but in a professional setting, the complexity becomes apparent.

*For example,
when designing a checkout process for an e-commerce platform, it’s important to consider various scenarios such
as failed payments, discount codes, and out-of-stock items. Mapping out every possible scenario is crucial to
anticipate and design for all potential user journeys.

4 Wireframing: The Backbone of Design

Wireframing is a crucial step in the design process, especially when planning a new mobile app layout. Starting
with simple sketches helps convey the initial concept to stakeholders. Once the basic structure is agreed upon, you
can refine the details before adding visuals. I suggest starting with pen and paper to iterate ideas quickly before
using digital tools like Figma.

5 Designing a product is challenging,

but getting stakeholders on board is key.

You need to explain why your design is the right fit—how it reflects the brand’s identity and appeals to the target
audience. Effective communication is crucial in getting your concept approved and implemented.

6 In UI design,

The Details Matter.

Once the UX is set, the UI becomes crucial.

*For example,
in a fitness app, the colour palette and button styles affect user interaction. UI and UX Vust work together to create a
great user experience. Every detail can enhance or detract from the user journey. Keeping up with design trends
and honing skills is essential for top-notch designs.

When I started my UX design Journey ∴ Are you a UX Designer or just a Designer?
